On a cool Sunny day the South won the toss and inserted the West who found it slow going on a damp track. The South took their first wicket fell for10 runs but thereafter found wickets hard to come by as J. Hagen- Burt (24) & O. Gannon (34) kept the runs ticking over
with a 63 partnership. Once Gannon was out the runs slowed and the wickets fell at regular intervals giving the West at total of 135.
The South got off to a quick start but lost early wickets after some indifferent shots and poor running. M. Harford made a useful 16 to help rebuild the innings but after drinks 2 quick wickets fell leaving the South with plenty to do and 7 wickets down. This bought N. Osborn (38*) & I. Powell (20*) to the crease. This was enough to see the South home.
Many thanks to Charlie Woolnough for all his hard work in preparing the ground and all the South parents who supplied the tea.
