With the first ball of the innings pulled away to the boundary, opener Jack Smyly showed his and Devon's attacking intent by moving swiftly on to 51 before retiring in the 12th over. Devon used this match as a final opportunity to watch and assess players that would eventually make up the 14 man squad for this summer. Elliot Adams added 35 while Isaac Windly raced to 53 before being bowled. Devon finished on 214 after some late hitting from Luke Jefferson.
Blundell's started steadily and were 28 for 1 off the first 9 overs. Enter Kersley Sutton an then Oliver Robinson, on debut! Sutton bowled straight and with good pace, taking 3 wkts in quick succession. This was followed up by Robinson who bowled with good control and accuracy. His 5 wkts for 2 runs in just 3 overs finishing any chance of Blundells mounting a recovery.
Devon 214-7 (J Smyly 51, I Windley 53, E Adams 35). Blundells 42 (O Robinson 5-2, K Sutton 3-5). Full scorecard
