Match report:
On what can be said a very cold day on the Moore at Yelverton turned into a fantastic game. South Devon piled on early pressure as they got off to a flying start as Noah Wright (15) and Will Christophers running the West Team around. Joe Hagan-Burt managed to dismiss Wright with a great off cutter, however this brought to the crease Harry Ward who with Christophers put on 126 for the second wicket before Ward was dismissed for 29. South Devon was able to keep up the scoring rate throughout the innings and post 215-3 as Christophers accelerated to 65 and the extras toped 70! Miles Hill was the pick of the West bowlers with 1-7. In reply West got off to a strong start with Owen Gannon and Fraser Cowan outing on 72 for the first wicket. Cowan was then dismissed for what had been as great 32 from 47 balls. Gannon kept the score board ticking over however fell short of his 50 by 6 when Osbourne (3-16) took all three of his wickets in one over and put South Devon in a great position to win the game. Ben Grove continued to fight in for the West with a quick fire 38 from 37 balls including 5 fours was supported by Jacob Caunter (11*), however this wasn’t quite enough as South Devon bowled the West out for 172.
