On a sunny but blustery day at Yelverton West Devon won the toss and asked East Devon to bat first. After 8 overs this seemed like a bad decision as East Devon raced to 50 without loss with the impressive left hander Tom Lammonby (22) putting away some wayward bowling and the solid Tom Williams (11) looking assured at the crease. This all changed with the introduction of James Casey (5-24) and Daniel Farnham (3-16) who bowled a very tight line and length for the second match running and the runs started to dry up. Williams fell to a spectacular catch by Ollie Parsons at midwicket and Lammonby succumbed to a Farnham slower ball which was mistimed and spooned up in the air to be caught and bowled. East Devon crumbled from 60 without loss to 83-6 before a determined Ben Crocker (23) held together the lower order before being bowled by leg spinner Leon Horn (1-16) as East Devon finished on a respectable 128 all out with 7 overs remaining.
The West reply started steadily with Parsons and Julyan watchful and being tied up by the accurate Henry Mutter (2-18) and Tom Lammonby (1-19) and they reached 41 when Parsons spooned up a catch off Fanous and Julyan was then run out with the score on 53. It was the middle order of James Casey (22), Leon Horn (11) and Ben Payne (10) that held the reply together for West Devon as they slowly chipped away at the total and despite some late wickets Ben Dunlop hit the winning runs with 3 overs remaining and the loss of 8 wickets.
East player of the match was awarded to Tom Lammonby for his attacking batting and accurate medium fast bowling.
