SANDFORD trounced Chudleigh by 176 runs to open up a 35-point lead at the top of the A Division table.Ben Hancock led the way with 82 not out and with contributions from Ben Clement (54) and Shaun Hawkins (33) Sandford totalled 225 for six.
Graeme Wilson (2-84) took some punishment, although skipper Mark Heather (2-34) stood up well under pressure.
Chudleigh were all out for 49 in reply with Paul Horne’s nine as good as it got.
Gary Abdoll (4-9), Sean Fryatt (3-22) and Brian Leech (3-15) were the bowlers who did the damage.

Heathcoat in third place won a low-scoring affair with Barton by two wickets at Knightshayes.
Jim Parker (26) and Will Wyatt (30) put on 50 for Barton’s fifth wicket and with Dale Adderley chipping in 29 a 42-over total of 125 for seven was reached. Andrew Birt-Mitchell (3-34) was the pick of the bowlers.
Alex Hunt (7-40) made life hard for Heathcoat, whose fortunes fluctuated from 27 for one to 35 for six.
Alex Thompson (63no) batted through to earn Heathcoat victory with five overs to spare.
Budleigh Salterton were too strong for Bradninch, but couldn’t bowl them out to claim an outright win.
James Sharkey (60), Ben Carter (48) and Alex Richardson (37) contributed to Budleigh’s total of 202 for nine. Phil Chappell took four for 35.
Bradninch dawdled to 90 for six in reply in the 41-over game, James Plowman taking four for 25.
Budleigh are now only 13 points short of overtaking Stoke Gabriel to get out of the bottom two as the Villagers were rained off at Braunton.
Also off was the meeting between Hatherleigh and Plymouth.
