EXMOUTH stretched their lead at the top of the table to 21 points as they thrashed Tavistock by 94 runs.
While second-placed Barton were being held to a winning draw by nine-man Braunton, Exmouth were compiling 225 for eight against the third-placed Moorlanders.
Julian Page (44) was the early order anchorman – he and Mike Collinge put on 54 for the third wicket – then Toby Ingham (41) and Stuart Cross (38no) added 74 for the sixth wicket.
Ingham got on with it as he only faced 27 balls.
Tavy scored early runs through Nick Goodchild (70) and skipper John McGahey (38) and at 145 for five were in contention.
Then the collapse came – five wickets for 14 run as Tavvy were dismissed for 159. Matt Tarry (4-31) led the way, aided by two each from Ingham, Pat Hall and Lawrence Greenway.
Barton stay second in the A Division behind leaders Exmouth despite being held to a drawn by nine-man Braunton.
Barton scraped together 167 all out with Steve Lewis hitting a top score of 47. Mike Lievesley (29) and Stuart Bowker (28) added 49 for the sixth wicket. Mark Johnson (4-21) dominated the bowling figures for Braunton.
Alex Hodges hit 37 and Matt Seward 21 as Braunton blocked out for a total of 116 for six. Jamie Peters (2-14) was the best Barton bowler.
Although Barton had to settle for 12 points they moved further ahead of third-placed Tavistock, who were 94-run losers to leaders Exmouth.
Sandford are back in the promotion picture after beating Bradninch by five wickets to move within 11 points of second-placed Barton.
Of the five clubs trailing behind Exmouth in the last round of fixtures, Sandford were the only ones to win a game,
Bradninch recovered from 62 for six to make 182 for nine thanks largely to a seventh wicket stand worth 56 between Lucas Fencl (27) and Rob Acton (47). Earlier, Matt Jarrett had made 35.
Brian Leach (4-32) took the bowling laurels for Sandford, who coasted home on the back of a half-century from Richard Tucker (59), topped up by Gary Abdoll (38) and Leach (32).
Sidmouth beat Plymouth by three wickets on a good day for the Dibble tribe.
Plymouth were held to 123 for eight in 46 overs with Charlie Dibble (3-32) the leading wicket taker for Sidmouth.
Charlie’s son Anthony (27) and brother Mike (22) led the run chase with Dominic Bess (20) chipping in.
Pick of the bowlers for Plymouth with five foor 26 was Richard Gill.
Chudleigh had Plymstock under the cosh but couldn’t kill them off in a game which ended in a draw.
Ben Ripley (75no) and Matt Dowrick (29) underpinned Chudleigh’s total of 168 for nine.
Three wickets each for GraemeWilson and Lewis Howard had Plymstock in trouble, but they held on at 159for nine with Sami Kumar (83) their top scorer.
