Marcus Trescothick may be best known for his powerful hitting at the top of the batting order for Somerset and England but his support and fundraising for local charities has been a major part of his life for some time now and devoncricket.com are happy to support Marcus and his chosen charity, Children's Hospice South West in promoting the following:
Eric Cole, the organiser of Banger's Big Bike Ride 2011 writes:
We were intending to have a couple of fundraising dinners as part of our recent Charity Bike Ride, but for various reasons these did not go ahead after all. Marcus had obtained some items which we were going to auction at the dinners, which I now have left over.
These are as follows :
Signed SCCC match shirt donated by England test match captain Andrew Strauss following the game Somerset v India in which Andrew played for Somerset. Straight after the game he gave Marcus his three official match shirts, which Andrew then signed. These have now been beautifully framed including pictures of Andrew wearing the shirt during the game and there are certificates of authenticity to accompany each shirt. The frames are around 42" x 34" in size.
Two replica England shirts signed by Andrew Strauss which are also framed in similar fashion with pictures of him, and certificates of authenticity.
Full size Redback Cricket bat signed by all the India squad whilst at Taunton this summer. Signatures include M S Dhoni, Sachin Tendlkar & Rahul Dravid.
All of the above were given to us to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West and on their behalf we are happy to accept any reasonable offer. The money will then be added to what has already been raised for the Charity from Banger's Big Bike Ride 2011.
