BIDEFORD beat Stoke Gabriel by six wickets in the only B Division game to start on Saturday,
Seb Ansley made a top score of 28 for Stoke, who were bowled out for131.
Pick of the bowlers with three for 11 off nine over was Josh King. Brother Fred took two for 24.
Knocking off the runs was never a problem for Bideford once James Corry had wiped off 44 of them.
Although Mark Gilmour (3-53) caused a few interruptions, Dan Barrett (37no) and Paul Heard (23no) clinched a win that put Bideford top of the table.
“Stoke have lost a few players this season – and of the ones they have got four were missing, so their captain told me,” said Bideford skipper James Ford.
“They don’t look very strong so it was good luck that we got to play them and pick up full points instead of six for a rain off.”
Bideford visit Shobooke Park this Saturday.
