BIDEFORD had Ottery St Mary on the rack, but were unable to finish them off and came home with a winning draw.
Alex Crisp (75) and Ian Hayter (38no) were bideford’s main run makers in a total of 199 all out.
Crisp then took four for 33 as Ottery held out at 122 for nine for the draw.South Devon’s promotion bid hit a temporary setback as they went down by 116-run against visiting Sidmouth.
Dan Powell (69) and Charlie Miles (41) led Sidmouth to 208 for eight declared, then Miles took four for 24 and Henry Gater three for 25 as the home side were rolled over for 92. Pat Duke was stranded on 28 not out when the last wicket fell.
Ippelpen ran out of steam against Plymstock and had to settle for a draw.
Jason Williams made 80 in Plymstock’s 217 for seven, then skipper Simon Tapley (57) led Pens’ rearguard action to 171 for nine in reply.

ABBOTSKERSWELL ran out of steam when skipper Guy Harrison-Roberts was dismissed and had to settle for a losing draw at Brixham.
Brixham laboured at first against Haydn Crocker and Noah Tobias (2-47), then struggled against the spin of Matt Beasant and Toby Codd to 71 for three in 27 overs – Sam Thomas and Mike Barron getting most of them in a stand of 54.
Rhys Dallow (44no) joined Barron who eventually fell for 66 as Brixham got to 175 for four with 58 runs coming off the last seven overs.
Abbots started watchfully but with some excellent shots from Noah Wright reached 43 before he fell for 24.
Harrison-Roberts fell for 47 ending a partnership of 69 with Crocker, who soon followed for 2,6 which led to a cluster of wickets falling.
Abbots eventually finished on 157 for seven without the required flourish at the end, Barron again doing the damage with four for 50.
