BIDEFORD skipper James Ford isn’t afraid to say how he feels about the season ahead.
The C Division programme starts on Saturday with a home game against Ottey St Mary.
This time next year Ford hopes to have left Ottery behind.
“We are desperate to get out of the C Division and this year hope we can do it,” said Ford.
“Because we won six games in a row at the end of last season there is bound to be some expectation on us.
“That’s fine, but we won’t get promoted if we have another mid-season when we lose our way.
“Ours is a tough division with a number of clubs more than capable of pushing for promotion and we have to win and keep winning to get away from them.”
Bideford will have one of the youngest sides in the division this season as Ford, Matt Allin and Chris Luxton are the only players over 21.
