BLUNDELL’S School is hosting a celebrity cricket match in aid of the Royal National Children’s Foundation on Sunday, June 15.
The celebrity cricketers definitely signed up to play so far are ex-Zimbabwe international Henry Olonga and Keith Medlycott, who played for Surrey and England A.
Former England quickie Devon Malcolm has played in similar games before, but has yet to confirm whether he will play at Blundells.
Blundell’s will field a side of sixth former, old boys and staff. Former Somerst and England A keeper Rob Turner is on the staff, as is Devon and MCC batsman Rob Holman.
The 40-over match starts at 11am and, in addition to the cricket, there will be music from a steel band, a cash bar, lunch and a guest speaker, for those who have booked.
An auction of lots, including cricket bats autographed by the England team and shirts signed by the New Zealand team, will also be up for grabs as part of the fund-raising effort.
