Green smashes bowling round park

BOVEY Tracey carried too much firepower for South Devon as they dumped them out of Aaron Printers Narracott Cup by 80 runs.

Dan Green plundered 66 off just 26 balls – three fours and five sixes – as Bovey raced to 188 for four. He was the last man out.

Openers Brad Causey (24) and Dominic Whitlock (42) got Bovey off to a 72-run start then Jack Thomas (36) and Green really started motoring.

Bovey added 54 in the final four overs as South Devon’s bowlers were hoicked around.

Jonny Martin (2-36) and Paul Hooper (2-18) took two wickets each.

South Devon couldn’t keep up with the asking rate for long and at half way were up to 12-an-over territory despite the best efforts of Ali Wright (44) and Hooper (29) to move the score along.

With Sam Thomas (3-14) and Jeremy Christophers (2-17) keeping it tight the runs dried up as South Devon slowed to 103 for eight.
