DAN Bowser continued his excellent start to his England Learning Disability career with a maiden century helping the team to an 86-run victory over Australia in the second and final Twenty20.
The North Devon left-hander made 52 off just 31 balls on debut in the opening win, and he followed that up with a fantastic 115 not out off only 66 deliveries, a knock which included 15 fours and three sixes.
Bowser’s total lifted England to 180 for two, with Chris Edwards also contributing an unbeaten 38.
Captain Edwards was then the pick of the bowlers by taking three wickets for the concession of just two runs in his two overs as Australia were restricted to 94 for nine.
Tayler Young and Alex Jervis also chipped in with a couple of wickets apiece as England moved 2-0 ahead in the series, with the first of four 40-over matches taking place tomorrow and all six games counting towards the overall scoreline.
Man-of-the-match Bowser said: “I think I got dropped fairly early on so I wanted to make the most of that, and as the innings went on I just wanted to open my shoulders a bit more and wanted to make sure we got a decent total.”
