BRADNINCH gave Plympton a real run for their money before going down by two wickets at Plympton.
Dan Hardy top scored for Bradninch with 24 while Jack Horton, who used to play for Plympton, made 18 in a modest total of 129 for eight.
James Carr, Todd Rossouw and West Harslief all had two wickets each.
Ross Acton (4-28) posed plenty of problems for Plympton early on and at half way the home side were 56 for four.
Dan Robotham was still there though and with 13 overs to go was joined by skipper. Carr
Stands of 32 between Carr (29no) and Robotham (40) then 19 with Jamie Lee got Plympton over the line with two balls to go.
“It was never a guaranteed win for Plympton right to the end,” said Bradninch captain Tim Piper.
“At no stage were we out of it and that is something to take away from the game.”
“I always felt we were capable of making 140-150 so were a little short of runs.
“We bowled and fielded well to make an under-par total almost defendable. Our fielding was a lot better than last year.”
Piper will be hoping for drier conditions when Hatherleigh visit Kensham Park this Saturday.
