C Division - Ottery on the up

OTTERY welcome leaders C Division leaders Chagford this Saturday in confident mood after beating Kingsbridge by five wickets.

Ottery had a hit-and-miss start to the season but with three wins under their belt after defeating Kingsbridge are now up to fifth in the table.

Skipper Jody Clements said it appeared lessons learned the hard way are being applied.

“That’s two wins on the bounce now and sets us up nicely for Chagford,” said Clements.

“What was missing was some graft from the middle order, but we seem to be knuckling down now and creating platforms.”

Ashley Treeby (28) and Ben Glover (22) were the only batters to make much headway against George Biggs (4-27) and Mark Woodman (3-23) as Kingsbridge were dismissed for 130.

Having been 95 for five at one stage, Kings plummeted to 104 for nine as Biggs and Woodman got among them.

Sam Tennant (39) and Will Munford (25) were the leading run-getters on the chase.
