D Division - Yelverton take a tumble

JUST one of the D Division games was played to a finish and that was at Countess Wear where leaders Yelverton were beaten by eight wickets.

The table toppers were put into bat and bundled out for just 84 with only Chris Vinson making any impression with an unbeaten 30. Kav Diaz (3-21), Adrian Nash (3-41) did the damage with the ball.

Diaz then completed a fine all-round shift with a top score of 45 not out whilst Mark Davey chipped in with 36, as Wear sailed home losing just two wickets.

The maximum point win lifts the Exeter side from third bottom in the table to third from top!

Yelverton remain top with an 11-point lead after Feniton claimed ten points from a washed out home game with Filleigh.

Alex Frankpitt his 60 from the number seven slot to help rescue the Acland Park side’s innings from 50-5 to a very respectable 176 in very difficult batting conditions.

Skipper Mark Kingdon (23), Graham Tucker (21) and Jon Pyle (20) all made contributions. Filleigh were 24 without loss after eight overs when the rain finally killed off proceedings.

Steven Pritchard (31) and skipper Ben Morgan (27) together with 30 extras helped Seaton to 162-9 at Honiton where the home side repaid with 95-4.

There was no play at either basement dwellers Cockington or at Whimple.
