D DIVISION EAST II
WHIMPLE II were seven-wicket winners at home to a Feniton II side they bundled out for 89.
Andy Rose (29) led the visitors to their meagre offering as Joe Burden (3-13), Nick Thornton (3-18) and Luke Whitton (3-33) all claimed wickets.
Former Sidmouth favourite Steve Palfrey then hit 38 and, with Will Bardot chipping in 10, the run chase was completed for an early finish and a 19-point haul for the home side. Stuart Bright took 2-4 in three overs for the well-beaten Acland Park outfit.
Gary Benzie cracked a century for Kentisbeare II but it was in a losing cause as visiting Countess Wear II successfully chased down the mid-Devon side’s 235-9 to win by seven wickets.
Pete Beighton was the star of the show for Honiton II as they overpowered visiting Uplyme & Lyme Regis II to win by 112 runs.
Beighton (70), Tom Travers (38), Tom Strawbridge (36), led the home side to 202-6. Pete Barraclough took 3-29 for the visitors who were then hustled out for just 90 with only Michael Holding (20) making any impression as Andy Brinsford (3-9), Ollie Alcock (2-18) and Andy Canniford (2-27) did the business with the ball.
Exmouth III became the latest side to be unable to raise an eleven and so had ten points deducted from their D Division east tally. North Devon II were the benefactors, picking up 20 points without bowling a ball.
E DIVISION EAST
NEW boy Sam Reddick marked his Exeter debut with a quickfire 92 in the 3rd XI’s 147-run win at Seaton.
Reddick, who started the season in Shobrooke Park’s 1st XI, opened up with Adam Fradgley (35) with a stand of 101 occupying the first 16 overs.
When Fradgley went Reddick carried on before he was dismissed on 146 by Ian Hunt (5-59).
Hunt got the brake on for a while, but with Matt Williamson (36) and Harry Skinner dipping in Exeter skipper Vince Reddick declared at 258 for eight.
Seaton were never in it after losing Reid Mawdsley (26) and David Turner (29) to the combination of Williamson (2-44) and Paul Jordan (2-34).
Fradgley (4-11) shot the middle order way, leaving Naj Choudhary to wrap things up in nine balls with the last two wickets.
Upottery II were forced to settle for a winning draw as visiting Topsham St James II closed eight down still 58 runs shy of the home offering of 216.
Mike Arscott (82) and Matt Stevens (77) led the past maximum batting points whilst Ben Ward claimed 4-32 for the visitors who then were indebted to an unbeaten 57 from Matt Collins as they closed on that 158-8. Simon bath claimed three wickets for the hosts.
