THORVERTON hosted the Devon County Sports U13 finals day and ended up with the trophy (pictured).
In the first semi-final Thorverton restricted Sandford to 57-6 off 20 overs, with Tristan May (2-2), Jamie Khan (1-3) and Ben Harget (1-11) getting the wickets.
Thorverton reached the target with eight overs to spare, Jamie Khan leading the way with 22 not out.
The other semi-final was much tighter, Sidmouth beating Ottery by nine runs to set up a final against the hosts.
In the final Thorverton batted first and in difficult conditions reached 98 for nine with the innings anchored by a 60-run fourth-wicket partnership between man of the match Charlie Brown (34) and Khan (25).
Sidmouth bowled well and they were the only two Thorverton batters to reach double figures. Five run-outs then restricted the score as Thors chased quick runs.
Sidmouth started well in reply with a quick 23 from Will Counsell, but once he fell to Christian Cabburn, they struggled to keep up with the run rate and finished on 73-5 with Tristan May claiming three for two.
Rob Bradshaw-Smith, the chairman of the Bradleys East Devon Youth League, presented Thorverton with the U13 cup.
Great credit goes to John Hill for preparing a fantastic pitch fit to play three games on despite the awful recent weather.
