IPPLEPEN won a second successive game and have dropped just a single point from their first two outings after a six-wicket win at Whitchurch.
Left armer Andrew Mason (3-48) was the chief wicket taker as the home side batted first and were bowled out for 193. Doug Vernon top scored with 59 and his son Josh weighed in with 20 whilst there was a useful 31 from Josh Meadows.
Luke Tuckett led the run chase with 70 and Joe Abbot hit 44 whilst Neil Tamblin claimed 3-46 for the beaten hosts.
Having failed to go up on a technicality last season, the Pens appear to mean business this term.
Plymouth CSR, who play their home games at Buckfastleigh, defeated Bridestowe by 57 runs.
Brian Gaylard scored 91 as the visitors closed on 196-6.
Ben Wilkinson chipped in with 26 and shared in a stand of 57 for the second wicket with Gaylard.
Dan Piddock, on the back of his 100 for the 2nd XI last week joined Gaylard and they put on 63 iin 18 overs before Piddock was run out for 20.
Gaylard pushed on to reach 91 before being bowled by Fogerty (3-58)
Bridestowe were quickly 34-3 with James Sharpe ripping through the top order.
After trying his four seamers skipper Dave Bayliss brought himself on and took two wickets in his first over to reduce Bridestowe to 72 for six.
Phil Hatton dug in to score an excellent 64. He then went caught off Sharpe (4-28) to leave Bridestowe 129-9, before Bayliss (5-23) winkled out the last man with three overs to go.
Chris Palfrey took four for 22 and Jono Burden three for 22 as Whimple dispatched Countess Wear by 68 runs.
Paul Gillard (40no) and Trevor Griffin (40) led the way as Whimple totted up 216 for eight. Kaveenga Diaz (4-42) was Wear’s leading wicket taker.
Diaz (43) held his own with the bat, but decent support was lacking as Burden and Palfrey shot out Countess Wear for 148.
Ottery St Mary bagged a second successive win in a match that only needed 65 overs. Hosts Yelverton were bundled out for 108 in 36.2 overs with only Gul Khan (27) and Geoff Brain (26) able to make much of an impression.
Mark Woodman (4-24) and James Faulkner (3-25), claimed the wickets for Ottery who were then led to a comfortable victory by skipper Jody Clements with an unbeaten 32. Matt Kirk chipped in with 20 and the only home bowler to have any sort of success was Geoff Brain with 2-20.
Feniton bounced back from their opening day loss to beat Halberton and Sampford Peverell by five wickets at Acland Park. The visitors were led to a respectable 210-6 with yet another unbeaten half century from Dan Coles (62no) whilst Richie Durrant chipped in with 41. Russ Whitton took 4-39 in 13 overs for the hosts whilst opening seamer Dan Clarke sent down 13 splendid overs and finished wicketless for the cost of 46 runs. Norman Bedford led the successful run chase with 66 but it was Alex Frankpitt who saw the home side over the line launching successive Paul Robins deliveries to the boundary to finish the game with a brace of 6s.Skipper Mark Kingdon (38) and Adi Pullin (35) also chipped in for the Feniton cause.
