DEVON Dumplings had a routine win over South Oxfordshire Amateurs at Exeter, after the visitors collapsed spectacularly after lunch.
Winning the toss and batting first the Amateurs reached 93 for two by lunch, despite a rain interruption, with Simon Florey (32) and Russell Hayes (39) the main contributors.
Immediately after lunch there was a sudden clatter of wickets, the last eight falling for just 35 runs.
Chief destroyer was young Hatherleigh seamer Sean Letheren, who captured five for 22 off 12 overs. He was well supported by club-mate Gareth Tidball (3-23/.
The Dumplings had little trouble passing the visitors’ modest total with Tidball (41) and Clyst St George skipper Graham White (44no) steering them home with more than 13 of the last 20 overs to spare.
The game ended in anti-climax with the winnings runs coming from a wide followed by a bye.
