Dumplings defeated in last over
DUMPLINGS entertained Strollers – the Brasnose College old boys team from Oxford - who won the toss and elected to bat with C Townsend surviving a sharp run-out call to make 61 in a total of 214 all out.
Chris Kelmere took six wickets for 31 to leave the Dumplings what looked like a modest total to chase on the County Ground, given their mix of experience and youth.
Despite useful contributions from all three Abbotskerswell players, Byron Kennedy (39),Chris Kelmere (31) and Richard Ashworth (35) the Dumplings were all out for 186 with three balls to go – Dave Manning the last man out having a colossal heave heavenwards.
