Devon got their 2009 season off to a flying start with a resounding 169 run victory over Cambridge University . The visitors were asked to bat first and Olivia Anderson marked her Devon debut in fine style making and unbeaten 101 from 118 balls. Together with Claire Ramsay they added 107 first wicket, Ramsay eventually falling for 26. Bridget Culver and Amara Carr cam and went fairly quickly before skipper Lottie Miles joined Anderson in a 4 th wicket stand of 59 before Miles fell in the second to last over. Anderson completed her century in the last over as the innings closed on 207-4 from 40 overs.
A pitiful batting performance followed as Cambridge were bundled out for just 28. Extras with 17 was top score as five Cambridge players came and went without scoring. Nicole Richards was the principal wicket taker with 4-2 backed up well by Rebecca Donohue with 3-3. Notts would prove a tougher nut to crack the following day.
