E East: Skipper keeps Seaton in hunt

E EAST 2nd XI

SEATON II sit in a promotion berth after a four-wicket win at home to Kenn II.

Skipper Ian Hunt claimed a four wicket haul as the visitors were held to 155-8.

Toby Tucker then hit an excellent 72 as Seaton got home with four wickets to spare.

This weekend they travel to Cullompton after which they will have three games left to complete what they all hope will be a promotion winning campaign.

Upottery II remain very much part of the promotion picture in E Division East after a two wicket win at Kilmington II.

Jon Tattershall (29) and skipper Steve Morris (27) helped Kilmington to 145 with Dan Prettejohn leading from the front with 4-2and Fred Drew claimed 3-17 in eleven excellent overs. Leo Jefferson then hit an unbeaten 55 and Mike Arscott chipped in with 27 from the number three slot as Upottery got home on 146-8 with Dave Lavender claiming 3-29 for the hosts.

Prettejohn’s side are at home to Halberton and Samford Peverell on Saturday after which they have four to play to complete their season and the possibility of Upottery CC achieving double promotion remains very much on the cards.
