FENITON landed a two-wicket win at Honiton II in the derby date at Mountbatten Park.
Craig Lapping (31), Pete Beighton (28) and Andy Brinsford (24), combined to see their side bank maximum batting points at 203 all out.
Andy Rose provided the all-round inspiration for Feniton, first claiming 3-33 and he and Stuart Bright (3-61) bowled the hosts out, then hitting 41, as he, and Dan Lewis (65), led the successful run chase.
Brinsford claimed 4-40 and Lapping bagged a brace to sit tidily with his earlier runs
Axminster III may well have played through a fourth game of the Francis Clark Devon league season on Saturday without winning, but, they produced a couple of individual performances that were most notable!
Lorraine Szczepansia, who joined the Cloakham Lawn club last year to play in the Ladies XI, produced the highest individual score of 16 as the side were bowled out for 62 in reply to the Countess Wear II offering of 184.
In the Exeter team’s innings, 14-year old leg spinner Sam Farrow claimed 5-53.
Axminster’s Phil Spong said: “Lorraine joined us last year and settled in very quickly, initially in the Ladies XI.
“She is a fine all-rounder and a real asset to the side. In the case of young Sam, he hails from Dorset where he plays for the county U15s.
“He is a smashing young lad who, though a tender 14 years of age, plays with a cricketing head of someone ten years his senior.”

KILMINGTON had their home game with Kenn all done and dusted long before the schedule tea interval with the match completed before 4pm!
There was precious little indication of what was to come with Kenn, batting first, and on a solid 30 without loss.
Then Tom Wallis worked up a head of steam to claim a fivefer, fellow opening bowler Jack Larcombe and skipper Steve Morris each bagged a brace and the Kenn innings was blown way for a paltry 54!
Andrew Parr was the only home batsmen to lose his wicket in the successful run chase with Graham Watts unbeaten on 31 at the close.
Upottery II skipper Dan Prettejohn led the cricket to a winning draw in their game with Halberton II.
Dave Sawyer (60) and Mark Joyce (42) led the villagers to 259-9 and then Prettejohn put the ball on the spot with great consistency to claim 4-42 as the mid-Devon men held on at 201-8.
Seaton II recorded a 42-run win over Cullompton II. Chris Aplin (41) and Toby Tucker (39) led their side to 186.
Opener Stuart Wight hit an invaluable 13 as he held an end up whilst early wickets fell, leaving Seaton, at one stage, a perilous 32-3.
Tucker then claimed 3-36 whilst Aplin bagged a brace and 14-year old James Thomas took 2-32 as the Mid Devon visitors were bowled out for 144.
