EXETER SCHOOL v DEVON DUMPLINGSGLENN Lammonby hit an unbeaten 93 as the Devon Dumplings opened their season with a 96-run win over Exeter School.
The Dumplings reached a total of 181 for five in 40 overs, built mainly around a dominating knock from Lammonby.
The only other contributions of note were from opener Graham White (18) and Richard Tidball (12no).
The School made a deceptively promising start with openers Henry Parkin (38) and Richie Wilkinson (10) hitting 43 in the first seven overs.
Tyrone Kent, Exeter’s overseas player this season, put the brakes on by taking two wickets for 17 runs in six overs.
Further damage was done by seamer Tidball and spinner Bernie Wilson, who snatched three wickets as the innings subsided meekly.
The Dumplings’ veteran skipper Jeffrey Stanyer had the honour of the last wicket as the School were bowled out for a paltry 85 in the 28th over.
