EXMOUTH kept calm under pressure to beat Bradninch by four runs and win the Ivor Dewdney Devon T20 final at Cornwood.
Gary Chappell and Nick Dean took three wickets each as Bradninch dismissed Exmouth for 93 with three balls to go - a total which looked a little on the low side.
Bradninch reached their last two overs requiring 16 to win with five wickets in hand - and couldn't get them.
Victory put Exmouth in today's ECB regional final at St Just in Cornwall, where they play Somerset T20 champions Bridgwater in their semi. St Just face Ammanford from Wales in the other game.
Exmouth's leading scorer against Bradninch was opening batsman Antony Radunovich with 16 while Andy Buzza and Richard Baggs both made 14s.
Radunovich's main contribution was yet to come though.
After Tim Piper (14), Ross Acton (15) and Dan Hardy had taken Bradninch to 78 for five, the target was 16 to win off 12 balls with Radunovich to bowl.
Radunovich went for six off his first four balls then had Hardy and Acton both caught at long-on by Trevor Anning having a slog.
George Greenway bowled the final over defending 10, which came down to six off the last ball, It didn't happen.
Exmouth booked their place in the final with a six-wicket win over Bovey Tracey, who were always on a hiding to nothing after being bowled out for 70 in the 17th over.
Bovey were 25 for five when Chris Bradley was bowled second ball by Radunovich and without hard work by Peter Bradley (27) and Charlie Carter (12) would have been all out embarrassingly early.
Once Carter fell to Jamie Tapper (2-16) at 53 for six, Greenway (3-16) knocked over the tail without too many problems. Peter Bradley was the last man out to David Lye.
Exmouth made a 40-run start through openers Barney Huxtable (10) and Radunovich (21), who fell in quick succession.
There was another flurry of wickets on 54 when Buzza and Lye went one after the other.
Skipper Baggs (10no) and Anning ensured there were no slip-ups.
Bradninch's passage to the final was even more comfortable as they crushed Plymouth by nine wickets in the second semi-final.
Plymouth were held to 88 for eight in their 20 overs - Matt Hooper cracking 21 after coming in at 43 for five to move things along.
There were two wickets each for Eliot Acton and Dean. Ross Acton's one for 11 off for overs - two of them maidens - helped keep the lid on Plymouth.
Bradnich lost Brad Cachopa (12) on 31, but were seen home with more than four overs to spare by Piper (23no) and Chappell (44).
