Woodbury set a new divisional record in the Francis Clark F Division with a whopping 407-4 in their home meeting with Newton St Cyres.
What’s more former Exmouth all-rounder Richard Arnold thumped a 35-ball unbeaten century! Arnold was not out 105 whilst James Kavanagh also struck a century, he finally departed for 121 and Jimmy Jones fell seven short of a ton and Liam Cook weighed in with 38, all this after Woodbury lost their opening wicket to the very first delivery of the game!
Toby Ingham (pictured) then took 3-15 and Martin Cook, James Taylor and skipper Kev Miller also took wickets as the mid-Devon side were bowled out for 131, all this after they had an 81 run partnership for the opening wicket! Brian Ireson top scored with 43.
Woodbury are only the third team in league history to top the 400-mark - and the first in the F Division. The others are Feniton II (401-5 v Bishopsteignton, 2005) and Halberton SP, whose 494 for seven against Cullompton in 2004 will take some beating.Babbacombe are the table toppers after the powered to a ten-wicket triumph at winless Cheriton Fitzpaine. The Cherries were bowled out for 138 with Matt Passmore taking 3-18. Jeremy Tricks (78) and Jim Cutler (30) accounted for the bulk of the villagers runs. Dave Blewett then hit an unbeaten 87 to lead the South Devon side to a comfortable victory.
Kingskerswell are second after they bagged a five-wicket win at Cullompton. Steve Paul (21no) and Sanjay Rajapakse (18) were the principle scores for the Landspeed Meadow side who were bowled out for 107 with Steve Lacey taking 3-18. Mark Andrews then top scored with 30, Malcolm Paiva took 3-20 but the win was confirmed on 109-5.
Spencer Popham (52) and Neil Hussey (35) were the main scores for Culmstock in their 216-8, passed with ease by Yarcombe & Stockland.
Mark Faulkner took 5-46 as Chelston won by 33 runs at Exeter Civil Service where they bowled the Exeter side out for 140 after scoring 173 themselves. Rehan Caryll took 5-28 for the home side.
Yarcombe and Stockland sit joint second in the F Division after a six wicket win at Culmstock.
Then hosts batted first and were restricted to 216-8.
James Mitcham then led Yarcombe to a second successive away victory with an unbeaten 60.
Yarcombe will hope the weather allows them to stage their first home game of the league season on Saturday when they entertain Woodbury
