F DIVISION
Babbacombe took over as leaders of the F Division after their six-wicket win at Chardstock and a first defeat of the term for previous leaders Yarcombe.
Matt Passmore (2-31) and Dave Palmer (2-14) combined to help restrict Chardstock to 143-9.
Parris (45) and Hutchings (40) were the main scorers for the East Devon side.
Steve Lewis then hit an unbeaten 70 and Marcus Tanton hit 26 as the South Devon outfit got home with six wickets and plenty of overs to spare.
Yarcombe succumbed to their first defeat when they were beaten by seven wickets at home by Chelston.
Ben Fuzzard top scored with 26 in a Yarcombe total of 63.
After Fuzzard the next best was the eight from skipper James Mitchum.
Chris Harrison took 3-28 for Chelston then top scored with 26 as the Torbay side used 40 overs chalking up 64-3 to claim a victory that takes them up to second.
Spencer Popham stroked a superb 126 to help guide Culmstock to 271-7 at Newton St Cyres where the hosts were then bowled out for 96.
Martin Pierce hit an unbeaten 26 for the hosts but Marcus Busch’s 3-22 led Culmstock to a big winning margin.
Sanjay Rajapakse hit an unbeaten half-century and then took 4-22 to provide the match defining all-round contribution as Cullompton defeated Cheriton Fitzpaine by 113 runs at Landspeed Meadow.
Jack Grandfield chipped in with 47 as Cully closed on 226-6.
Grant Squire took 3-32 for the visitors and then top scored with 40 in the reply as Rajapakse (4-22) and Max Bristow (3-25) combined to bundle the Cherries out for 113.
Woodbury were well beaten when they went down by six wickets to visiting Exeter Civil Service.
Batting first the Town Lane side were given a reasonable start by James Watson and Jimmy Jones who put 25 on the board before Watson was first to go for seven. Three more wickets fell in quick succession as 25 without loss became 33-4! Toby Ingham then joined James Kavanagh and the pair took the total to 73 before Ingham fell to a catch with 22 to his name. Kavanagh was then eighth man out for 36 with the score then 102-8.
The tail wagged a little to take the total to 116, but that never looked likely to be a total the bowlers could either defend, or attack.
Mike Skidmore took 4-48 and then skipper Vic Murphy hit 37 as the Exeter side sailed home for the loss of just four wickets.
To Woodbury’s credit they did make the visitors use up 38 overs in sealing victory.
Kavanagh sent down five tight overs, four of which were maidens and skipper Kev Miller bowled a tidy nine overs to return figures of 1-13.
Nalin Chouhan (1-27 in nine), Dave Lowman (1-14 in four) and Ingham (1-43 in 12), were the other wicket takers.
Skipper Miller said: “We really did not bat very well. I am not sure if then conditions caused concern but the batsmen seemed to approach then contest as if it was a 20-pver thrash and that tactic most certainly did not work!”
Woodbury are the odd side out next weekend and sit out the match day, returning to action then week after with a trip to Chelston.
