Devon name 12 for MCCA Cup opener

SOMERSET won’t be releasing all-rounder Lewis Gregory to play for Devon in Sunday’s Minor Counties Cup opener against Oxfordshire at Bovey Tracey.
Devon sounded out the Somerset management about releasing Gregory, whose Devon pedigree was forged in the county age-group teams and with club side Plympton.
Devon’s players are short of match practice – losing the friendly against Somerset II at Bovey to bad weather last Sunday didn’t help – but Gregory has been in action for Somerset.
With Gregory not available Devon have named a 12-man party for the game. There are one or two new faces – Matt Kidd and Liam Lewis come in – but no real surprises.
Former captain Neil Hancock made himself available for one-day cricket this season having not played county games at all in 2012 and he comes straight in.
