Devon women kept up the pressure on their rivals for promotion with a comfortable 10 wicket win at Yateley CC against Hampshire. After winning the toss the home side elected to bat first and were on the back foot from ball one as Jodie Dibble trapped opener Sarah Fogwill lbw with the first ball of the day. Wickets tumbled on a regular basis, the highest partnership being 25 between Georgie Dye and skipper Kate Hudson fro the 7th wicket. Dye went on to make an unbeaten 23 as Hampshire were restricted to 100-9 from their 50 overs. Wickets were shared around as Jodie Dibble, Giselle Ansley and Clara Nielson claimed two apiece whilst there was a wicket each for Rebecca Donohue, Nicole Richards and Tessa Dibble..
In the absence of both Heather Knight, away on England Academy duty, and Vicky Bowden with family commitments, Nicole Richards was promoted to open the batting and together with Olivia Anderson made short work of the chase as Devon coasted home with more than 25 overs to spare, Richards making an unbeaten 49, with Anderson adding 36. The win moves devon 30 points clear at the top and a win against Staffordshire in their next fixture woudl all but secure their promotion to Division 2.
