Travelling to Hampshire, the Devon girls were attempting get their first win against Hampshire in over two years! Devon won the toss and elected to bat on a cloudy and breezy day. Not with the greatest start, Devon were down a wicket in just the second over! Opener Daisy Meadowcroft (23) continued to bat steadily until caught in the 16th over, when Devon were only on 58-3. Sophie Florides (23) and Carmen Clements (18) were to bat with some intent; but Devon were bowled out once again, with just 5 balls remaining, ending their innings on a very chaseable total of 140.
Determined to bowl with far less wide of recent matches, Devon, began well with dismissing Hampshire's opening pair for just 14. Devon can be very proud of reducing their wides in this game, just 16 - a huge improvement and their best this season. However trying dismiss the splendid partnership of Ella Chandler (50no) and Alice Monaghan (42no) was to prove to be too difficult, with Hampshire winning deservedly by 7 wickets, with just over 8 overs to spare.
