'Deadly Derek' to open Kenn's new pavilion
FORMER Kent and England spinner Derek Underwood will be the guest of honour when Kenn open their new pavilion next month.Underwood, an Ashes winner with England in 1971, took 299 wickets in 86 Test matches and enjoyed a First Class career with Kent from 1963-1987.
Kenn know Underwood well through his long association with touring side Heffle Cuckoos, whose Devon soiree this season starts there on July 8.
And as work has just finished on the £70,000 pavilion, asking Underwood to open it too good an opportunity to miss.
