KINGSKERSWELL are hoping the acquisition of Clubmark status will lead to more youngsters joining the club.Kerswell are one of only a handful of clubs outside the top three divisions of the Devon League to obtain Clubmark accreditation from the ECB.
Clubmark recognises the work done by clubs to put proper training, governance and safeguarding protocols in place.
Steve Waters, who recently took over as chairman at the F Division club following a back-room shake up, said: “This is a great fillip for the club and we hope it will attract many more colts to our burgeoning set up as well as more players looking to join a forward-thinking club.
“The new committee are grateful to those club members who have played such an active role helping the club achieve such a distinction.
“It is not an achievement awarded to many clubs in the lower tiers of the Devon Cricket League as yet, and it is something of which the club should be rightly proud.”
