Tributes still coming in to Ryan Walker

A SELECTION OF THE TRIBUTES PAID TO RYAN WALKER

It was an honour to have known Stubbsy as a friend and as a team- mate at Seaton CC. A very sincere and friendly person who loved the game and had time for everybody. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

BEN COPP

I don't believe I've ever played against Ryan, but played in a Sunday friendly at Seaton a couple of weeks ago.

He was there all day, helping behind the scenes on his day off. A true clubman and should be an inspiration to other players young and old to give up time to ensure clubs such as Seaton continue to provide access to cricket for all.

On behalf of Thorverton CC I pass on our thoughts to the family and immediate friends in the cricket community.

JAMES HOPE

My best friend for 10 years and won't find another chap like him. Cricket has lost a great person. He loved meeting other cricketers and shared many sociable nights with them. RIP Stubbs

NIALL DAVIS

The world has lost a true gentleman today. Stubbs loved the game of cricket and done all he could to pass on his knowledge to the colts and was always keen to see them improve.

He was a top mate and it was a pleasure to have grown up with him and to have captained him over the last two seasons and I would like to thank him for all he has done at Seaton CC.

Sleep well mate.

BEN MORGAN

Great bloke who played cricket the way it is intended. Cracking knock against us last year. Glad to have shared a pint with him. Condolences to family, friends and all at Seaton and Axminster from the boys at Countess Wear CC

JAMES BOGUE

Totally shocked to hear the news of young Ryan, a true gentleman with a wonderful heart, a character that you loved to be around on and off the field, the game of cricket has lost a young legend.

RIP Ryan Walker.

ANDY COTTAM (ex-Seaton, Somerset & Devon)

An absolute gem of a bloke and taken far too early. Will without doubt be missed by all that knew him. An absolute pleasure to know you as well as I did and play with and against you in the game that you loved and cared for so much. Rest in peace.

On behalf of all at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club, I’d like to send our sincere condolences to all close family and friends.

LLOYD WHITE

Ever since I have been playing cricket Ryan has always been spoke of highly. from the last two years of playing along side at Seaton I can see why.

He is always the first person to get everyone talking when things are not going right.

Standing along side Ryan in the slips was a joy as he was always full of jokes and banter. Will truly missed and never forgotten.

JOE BERRY

We’re all a bit stunned over here to say the least. The last correspondence I had with him was last week about getting him out here a bit earlier this year and he was very keen.

Ryan was a very well-respected member of our coaching staff last year and we appreciated his professionalism and passion for cricket especially in passing his love and knowledge to many young players around the Club and local schools.

He never shirked his coaching work and was a genuine pleasure to have with us to the point where we were going to provide financial assistance to get him out here again for next season.

He also fitted in very well in the playing ranks on and off the field and made a lot of new friends, who were looking to see him again shortly.

A real tragedy, he will be remembered and greatly missed.

GARRY - Papatoetoe CC, NZ

Our thoughts go out to Ryan's family, team-mates and to all that knew him. A big loss to such a great club and group of people.

On behalf of Yelverton Bohemians CC RIP Ryan Walker.

RICHARD GOLDSBY-WEST

If everyone was a little bit more like Ryan, the world would be a really awesome place.

STEVE PRITCHARD – SEATON CC
