Oxford batted first and found run scoring very difficult on a pitch where the ball tend to keep low and were all out in the 42nd over for 67. Megan Burton top scored with a patient 22. Devon produced a good all round performance in the field with Becky Piddock taking 3 for 14 and Giselle Ansley 2 for 6. Becca Donohue, Nicole Richards and Esme Ansley also took a wicket apiece.
When in reply Devon were 45 for 2 off 15 overs it looked as though the game was progressing to a predictable conclusion. Oxford, though, took heart from the fall of the third wicket and produced an incredible turn round with their slow bowlers Fi Morris (3 for 11) and Ellie Porter (2 for 17) bowling cleverly in tandem. At the death, though, it was the return of opening bowler, Lindsey Smith that took Oxford to victory with three wickets in a very tight spell.
