PLYMPTON are on their way back to the Premier Division after an absence of four seasons after clinching the runners-up spot behind champions Paignton.
The odds were always stacked heavily in favour of Plympton going up as they only needed three points at Chudleigh to be certain.
And the got those pretty promptly by reducing Chudleigh to 61 for six on the way to 86 all out.
Chudleigh, who were playing to win for their A Division survival, struggled from the start against Ryan Skinner (3-19) and acting captain Ross Farrer (3-30), who was deputising for the holidaying James Carr.
Sachintha Galhenage (17) and Shaun Newland (16) resisted at the end but for Plympton it was happy days and job done.
That might explain why Plympton then subsided to 34 for four in reply with Faisal Khaliq (3-54) and Ben Holmes (2-25) doing the damage.
Wes Hartsleif (31) and Christian Bunney (31) stopped the rot with a stand of 45 that took Plympton within eight runs of victory.
Plympton didn’t know it at the time but they did Lewdown a huge favour by beating Chudleigh, who could have gone past the Moorlanders had they won.
