SIDMOUTH dropped further behind at the top of the Premier 2nd XI standings when the lost by 82 runs to visiting Bovey Tracey.
James Fulner (79) shared stands of 55 with Phil Barraclough (11) and 50 with Somon Newton (33) in Bovey’s 202 all out. Andrew Longstreet made 25.
Charlie Dibble (4-49) and Dom Bess (3-61) took the wickets.
Sidmouth were in trouble right from the start as skipper Matt Hewer went fourth ball and Dan Powell then Declan Lines failed to exercise the scorers.
Saj Patidar made 50 in a losing cause as Barraclough (4-21) and James Mason (2-55) reduced Sidmouth to 84 for eight and on to 120 all out.
Bovey (208pts) have gone past former leaders Sidmouth (197) into second place behind leaders Exeter (212), who beat relegation worriers Exmouth by six wickets in a low-scoring affair.
Only Lloyd Loman made a double-figure score as Exmouth were skittled out for a paltry 32.

Plymouth are now a distant fourth after their game against North Devon was rained off.
Paignton won by 188 runs at Tavistock to push the Moorlanders within one more defeat of relegation.
