South Dartmoor off to Lords AGAIN!
SOUTH Dartmoor U15 girls are off to Lords to play in the Lady Taverners National Finals for the second year running.

The girls booked their place in the finals by winning the South West Regional Round at UWE, Bristol.

The girls had previously won the Dartmoor School Sports Partnership round, which qualified them for the county finals, which they also went on to win.

Travelling to UWE the girls knew they would have to win all four games to make it to the national finals again.

The first group stage against teams from Wales and Hampshire was relatively comfortable with wins by 59 and 33 runs respectively.

In the afternoon the games were much closer and nerve racking.

Against Brannel School from Cornwall victory was by four runs, meaning all was resting on the final game against Corsham from Wiltshire.

Corsham scored 67 batting first, and as the game swung one way then the other South Dartmoor eventually came out on top winning with an over to spare.

It was a much-deserved victory and place in the finals where they will meet four teams from the four other regions of the country.

That is now 13 straight wins this year and only one loss in 29 games over the last two years.

Good luck to South Dartmoor when they travel to Lords on Wednesday, May 13.
