SOUTH DEVON INDOOR LEAGUE – WEEK FOUR
PAIGNTON lost for the first time this season in Division One when Abbotskerswell beat them by two wickets.
Mark Smith top scored with 41 in Paignton’s 161-2, which Abbots knocked off with an over to spare.
Star of the show for Abbots with an unbeaten 89 was Josh Dowling.
Matt Thompson and Ben Passenger claimed two wickets each as Torquay ground out a 21-run win over Dartington & Totnes.
Mickey Wilkinson (50no) and Passenger (39) were the leading scorers in Torquay’s 174 for two.
Despite Ashley Harvey’s 84, a middle order collapse left Glen Colegate (25) and impossible task.
Kingsbridge won for the first time this season as Dan Hardy (50no) and Matt Hammett (21no) steered them to a three-wicket verdict over Paignton with three overs in hand.
Earlier, Tom Blundell top scored for Paignton in their 130 all out.
Division Two pacesetters Ipplepen were comfortable winners by two wickets in their tussle with Brixham.
Mark Orchard’s 53 was as good as it got for Brixham who were 129 for four after 12 overs.
Dave Harris with 30 not out – and hefty helping of 34 extras – won it for the Pens.
Vivek Kulkarni was man of the match for Chelston in their 95-run win over Kingskerswell.
Kulkarni hit 30 not out at the end to top up Chelston’s total to 173. Chris Harrison top scored on 37.
Antony Waters (27) had the only score of note as Kulkarni (3-11) and Harrison (2-16) skittled Kerswell for 78 with 15 balls to go.
Stokeinteignhead clubbed a record score for the new competition of 243 for two in their 141-run demolition job on Abbotskerswell B.
There were half-centuries for Dan Britcliff, Tom Hawkins and Carl Presst in a whopping total of 243 for two – both wickets falling to Paul Jelley.
Abbots were all out for 102 in reply, Toby Codd making 46 in a losing cause.
