THERE were no major surprises at Sidmouth’s annual meeting with most of the leading officials re-elected on the nod.
Will Murray, who steered the 1st XI to the Premier title last season, carries on as skipper for another season.
Matt Cooke was elected 1st XI vice-captain and will continue as club coach.
After a lengthy break Charlie Dibble takes over the reins once again as 2nd XI captain.
Graham Munday will double up as fixture secretary and 3rd XI skipper.
In a new role, former 1st XI captain Saj Patidar will be chairman of a playing committee that will encompass all aspects of the playing side.
The club now has a vision statement, which was adopted at the meeting.
Off the field Mike Dibble continues as chairman, Anthony Griffiths remains as secretary, John Goodwin is ground officer and Lynne Whitehall is responsible for welfare.
Maureen Bess was elected section treasurer and Rob Fowler is the new colts’ co-ordinator.
Colts managers for the 2013 season will be Paul Newberry (U15), Paul Dodds (U13), Rob Fowler (U12), Chris Fitzhenry (U11), Liz Seward (U11 Girls) and Stuart Cload (U11 hardball pairs). The position of U10s’ softball manager remains vacant.
The main discussion of the evening surrounded the proposal from the Devon Cricket League regarding the adoption of win-lose cricket throughout the Devon League.
“The majority of players were in favour of this,” said Dibble.
