THINGS can only improve for Stoke Gabriel this season after a dismal 2014.
They were relegated in theory long before the end of the season and a late revival did nothing to save them.
Skipper Jack Tolley is soldiering on, but without Bill Alcock (Babbacombe) and Andy Lockyer (Shaldon).
“Good servants to the club - a shame they decided it was time to leave,” said Tolley.
Stoke didn’t get an overseas player in until it was too late last season, but have one from the start this term.
Shane Lewis has played for Western Province U21 and Tolley is predicting ‘plenty of runs’ and ‘lots of wickets’ for the young all-rounder.
Stoke still need a keeper and Tolley would love to hear from anyone interested.
Youth is the key for Stoke this season and Tolley expects Seb Ansley, Isaac Withington and Jake Robinson to make an impression.
