Funeral takes place of Sue Linsdell

THE funeral has taken place of Sue Linsdell, the wife of Honiton CC president Terry, who died while on holiday before Christmas,

Mrs Linsdell, who was 78, suffered a brain haemorrhage whilst on a cruise.

She died in hospital in Lisbon on December 19. The Linsdells were married for 57 years and had four children and five grandchildren

Her funeral took place today (January 14) at St Paul’s Church in Honiton.

Mrs Linsdell had a 40-year association with the club as secretary, treasurer and tea lady.

Honiton was a regular stopping off point for touring sides and Mrs Linsdell could prepare up to 40 teas a season.

Andrew Lapping, the Honiton chairman, said: “Everyone at the club and those who have known her are in total shock at the loss of a genuinely honest and lovely woman.

“Sue shared Terry’s passion for cricket and if it was not for them we would possibly not have a club at Honiton.

“She was someone who would always put a smile on your face every time you spoke to her.

“She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with Terry and his family at this extremely tough time.”
