Active Devon is co-ordinating a Disability Sport CPD day in partnership with the Football Association and Table Cricket. The workshops below are aimed at colleagues from the education sector and voluntary sport sector that are involved in the delivery of sport to young disabled participants.
Lunch will be provided for colleagues wishing to attend both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Through funding from DfE Disability programme and working in partnership with the Devon FA, Active Devon are able to provide this day FREE OF CHARGE.
FA Disability Talent Workshop
This workshop is part of the FA commitment to enhancing knowledge of disability football within the county. It will cover the disability talent player pathway, classification and eligibility, finding talented players and highlighting prominent player case studies. This workshop will enhance CPD for School Games Organisers, PE Teachers, Grassroots Community Coaches and Football in the Community Coaches but is also open to other organisations.
Table Cricket Leaders Award
Table Cricket was devised in 1990 through Project Adapted and was created especially for those with more severe physical impairments. The sport is now played in schools across the country, culminating each year with a National Final at Lords.
This workshop is available to all coaches and teachers with an interest in delivering Table Cricket. It will introduce the game through both theory and practical applications, establish the competition format and identify player pathways.
