Devon v Cornwall - Match One
Our second round of the Regional T20 competition was away to Cornwall. Oddly enough this round involved on'y Devon and Cornwall and so the girls played back-to-back matches.
Having won the toss, Devon went into bat and yet again opener Libby McNally put on a very steady 25 and captain Ellie Ingham-Hill a quick 26. Devon scored 118 -5 for their 20 overs. Cornwall struggled with the bat and though they batted their overs were unable to get close to Devon's innings and ended on just 61-6.
Devon v Cornwall - Match Two
Straight into bat Cornwall continued to struggle to score and only two of their team were able to reach double figures. Devon displayed a wonderful bowling attack, with Sophie Florides' sparkling three overs (3-0-3-2) and Ellie Ingham-Hill's for 2 for 1 in just 2 overs. Aggressive in the field with runout and a stumping, Devon bowled Cornwall out for just 56.
Not out Libby McNally, displayed a wonderful batting attack for her 28 (with 5 boundaries) and was supported confidently by Emily Martin (14no). In just 9.2 overs Devon won by 9 wickets.
