Devon U15 Girls v Gloucestershire - Match Report 2015
The girls travelled to Hatherleigh CC on a day that was forecasted to be one of the hottest of the week. Though very muddy and with a heavy shower just before the start of play, we did not see too much of the sun. Devon won the toss and elected to bat. Runs were rather slow in coming and after 10, we were only on 24 for 1. Runs continue to be rather elusive, and at drinks at 20 were still only on 59 for 3. Libby McNally (36) was to be the only real scorer, though opener Chloe Rose (22) provided good support for 27 overs.
Devon did bat their overs, ending on 163-9.
Gloucestershire were also to find batting tricky and opener Alice Hill (24) and Phoebe Pearce (20) coming in at seven, were the only girls to make it into the twenties. Sharp in the field, and some accurate bowling proved too difficult for Gloucestershire and Devon bowled them out in the 38th over for 139. Devon winning by 24 runs.
