On July 19th, Devon played Berkshire away at a picturesque rural ground in Peppard, near Reading. Unfortunately, the game was very one sided and was completed in just over two hours.
Berkshire won the toss and elected to bat. After a relatively confident start, Berkshire collapsed with only Sherisa Gumbs (18) getting into double figures. Becca Donohue made the first breakthrough taking two for 7 from her opening spell. The introduction of Clara Nielson ensured an early finish as she quickly made inroads into Berkshire’s inning. Four of her victims were bowled and one stumped by Amara Carr. Amy Farr also took two wickets.
In reply, Devon lost two wickets but a win was never in doubt, as Becky Bertrand (30*) and Amara Carr (19*) knocked off the runs.
Clara Nielson was woman of the match for her spell of five wickets for 8 runs (her first five wicket haul for Devon).
