On July 23^rd at the County Ground, Chelmsford, Devon won the toss and decided to bat. A second wicket partnership of 59 between Amara Carr and Becky Bertrand suggested that Devon might post a good total. However, the introduction of left arm over bowler Zoe Quested led to a mid innings collapse when Devon lost six wickets for the addition of 14 runs. That Devon got to 140 was mainly due to 14 year-old Cait O’keefe who played an attacking yet sensible innings of 23. Zoe Quested finished with 5 for 38 and Leanne Tigg bowled with accuracy and intelligence for 2 for 19.
