Devon U17 Girls v Kent Under 17 Girls 2011
On May 28th, Devon played their first ECB League match at North Molton Cricket Club. Unfortunately, the match was frequently interrupted by rain.
Devon batted first and were unable to establish any substantial partnership against Kent’s accurate bowling attack. Amara Carr (45) and Jodie Dibble (27) batted positively and TP Turner (11*) – playing her first league match for Devon – showed promise. Lucy Arman (5 for 20) and Charlotte Pepe (3 for 7) were Kent’s most successful bowlers.
In reply, Kent had scored 3 off two overs when rain forced a further delay of an hour. When Kent resumed their innings they quickly reached their revised target of only 59 with the loss of one wicket.
Kent 61-1 (J Denniff 19*, O Barber 17*, Emma Marsh 15) beat Devon 113 all out (A Carr 45, J Dibble 27, TP Turner 11*; L Arman 5-20, C Pepe 3-7) by 9 wickets
