On August 12th, Devon played Oxfordshire away at the scenic Minster Lovell cricket ground.

Devon won the toss and decided to bowl. Devon’s opening bowlers – two 14 year-olds Annabel Squire and Cait O’Keefe – gave great examples of how to bowl line and length, and Annabel’s two wickets in her opening spell put Oxfordshire on the back foot. Oxfordshire recovered but found scoring difficult against Devon’s varied and accurate attack (aided by two run outs effected by Katie Chisholm and Anna Cherrington) and only achieved 127 for 7 in 45 overs.

In reply, Devon’s openers soon looked confident and Amara Carr (53) and Frances Lausen (47*) put on 124 for the first wicket to ensure an early finish with over 15 overs to spare.
